Ambiguous AI – Explaining human-AI collaboration in 60 seconds

The brief

Ambiguous AI needed an explainer video that could communicate a complex idea simply: AI agents that work alongside humans, not instead of them. Their platform lets teams build no-code AI coworkers that coordinate across Slack, email, and tasks — but explaining that in a way that clicks takes more than a feature list.

The tagline says it all: "Make work flow, not workflows."

The challenge

Workflow automation is a crowded space. Zapier, Make, n8n — everyone promises to automate your work. Ambiguous needed to stand apart by showing something different: AI and humans as equal participants, handing off tasks like runners in a relay.

The video had to:

  • Explain the product without jargon or technical complexity
  • Show the human-AI collaboration concept visually
  • Keep it short and engaging enough for landing page visitors
  • Match the brand's clean, modern aesthetic

The process

I worked directly with the Ambiguous team to understand their product and audience. The process followed a similar structure to my other explainer work — tight feedback loops and fast iteration.

  • Discovery — Deep dive into the product, target users, and competitive landscape
  • Script & storyboard — Collaborative sessions to nail the narrative arc and key messages
  • Visual development — Establishing the motion style and visual language
  • Animation & production — Building out scenes, transitions, and final polish
  • Sound design — Adding music and effects to bring it all together

The result

Takeaway

Explainer videos for AI products have a unique challenge: you're selling something invisible. There's no physical product to show. The key is finding the right metaphor — in this case, the idea of work flowing naturally between humans and AI rather than being forced through rigid automation pipelines. That's what makes the message land.
